New Viaduct to Improve Traffic Flow on NW 25th Street, Doral

By CityOfDoral.com  |  July 11, 2016

On Friday July 15th, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the highly anticipated Viaduct on NW 25th street. By separating cargo truck and commuter traffic, this project will improve the flow of traffic on NW 25th Street and reduce travel time. The viaduct facilitates the movement of cargo in and out of the cargo facility at Miami International Airport by providing a direct connection from NW 82 Ave.

Other improvements made to NW 25th Street include: widened lanes, added sidewalks and wheel chair accessible crossings, as well as the increasing of the turning radius on major intersections so trucks are better able to make the turn while avoiding curbs. The City is also working with FDOT and the Florida Turnpike Authority to build a flyover from NW 25th street to the Florida Turnpike.
